m2o_panel.exe comes with the server: run it instead of m2o_server.exe. It starts the server,
starts it again if it falls over, and gives you a web page to run it from, like txAdmin on FiveM.
- Run
m2o_panel.exe(in the server's folder). Its window shows the address and, the first time, a PIN:[panel] the panel: http://localhost:40120/ [panel] first time: open the panel and enter this PIN to make your admin account: 48151623
- Open http://localhost:40120, enter the PIN, pick a name and a password. That's the main admin account: it can do everything and adds the others.
- From now on log in with that name and password. The panel is in the same 11 languages as the launcher.
What's in it
| Page | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Players online, uptime, CPU and memory, charts of players and load (6 hours to 7 days), recent punishments, an announcement to everyone's chat. |
| Players | Who is on now: ping, health, time played. Click one: IP, position, vehicle, money; message, warn, kick or ban them; admin notes; their record. |
| Console | The server's console, live, with a filter. Type any console command (Tab completes, ↑ ↓ history). |
| Resources | Start, stop and restart resources; switch which ones start with the server. |
| Bans | Every ban with its reason and end; ban a name or an IP, unban. Works with the server off too. |
| Player database | Everyone who ever played: first and last time, total play time, last IP, notes, warnings, kicks and bans. |
| Logs | Punishments (who, whom, why) and everything admins did in the panel. |
| Settings | m2o_server.ini as a form (name, slots, tags, season...) or as text; scheduled restarts; the Discord webhook; the panel's language. |
| Admins | Accounts for your team, each with its own permissions. |
Scheduled restarts
Settings → Panel → Scheduled restarts: add the times (this computer's clock), for example 06:00 and
18:00. Players are warned in the chat 15, 5 and 1 minute before. The top bar's Restart button does the
same at once.
Discord notifications
In Discord: Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook, pick the channel, copy its URL. Paste it in Settings → Panel → Webhook and press Send a test. The channel gets the server's starts, stops, falls, scheduled restarts and bans.
Admin permissions
| Permission | Allows |
|---|---|
| Everything | All of the below, now and later. |
| Console | Seeing the console and running any command, Lua included: give it only to people you trust with the server. |
| Players | Messaging, warning and kicking players, notes, announcements. |
| Bans | Banning and unbanning. |
| Resources | Starting, stopping and restarting resources. |
| Server | Starting, stopping and restarting the server. |
| Settings | Editing m2o_server.ini and the panel's settings. |
| Admins | Adding and removing admins, giving permissions. |
The panel's admins are separate from the in-game [groups] / [admins]: one is for the web page,
the other for chat commands in the game.
Opening it from another computer
The panel listens on port 40120 (TCP) on all the server's addresses. To open it from home while the server
runs on a VPS, allow that port in the Windows firewall and go to http://<server's IP>:40120. The
connection isn't encrypted: on a public server, prefer reaching it over a VPN, an SSH tunnel or an HTTPS proxy
(Caddy, nginx). Wrong passwords are limited to 8 tries in 10 minutes per address.
Its files
panel/ settings.json port, address, auto-start, restarts, webhook, language panel.db admins, the player database, logs, charts (SQLite)
settings.json lets you change the port ("port": 40120) or listen only on this computer
("host": "127.0.0.1"); restart the panel after editing it. Forgot the only admin's password? Close the panel,
delete panel/panel.db (the player database and logs go with it) and start it again: it shows a new PIN.
Closing the panel's window stops the server properly (it gets quit and a few seconds to save).
Running m2o_server.exe on its own still works, without the panel.
